Channel Islands National Park

Five of the eight islands in Southern California's Channel Island chain constitute the Channel Islands National Park. The water around the island is protected as Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary.

Many of the plants and animals who live here have adapted themselves to the windy and exposed location. Sea lions, seals, cormorants and sea birds are found here.

Visitors must remain on trails and cannot bring pets. Primitive camping is allowed at certain locations, reservations required.

A visitor center is open to the public at now cost at the headquarters on Ventura Bay.
