Bodega Bay California

Miwok and Pomo Indians were the first to occupy the Sonoma County. It was around the 1800s that white settlements began to spring up along the coast. Bodega Bay was home to the first steam-powered sawmill. There was a lot of lumber in the area and the population started to grow shortly after the production of the mill.

Bodega Bay has a small claim to fame as the setting for Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds."

Bodega Bay is both a coastal community in Sonoma County, just northwest of the Marin County line, and the body of water just north of Tomales Bay.

Bodega Bay is part of the Santa Rosa, California metro area.
